These trees in Southern snowdonia, are remnants of the temperate rainforest which covered a much larger area of the west coast of Britain. The path winds up through these woods at the start of the way we usually climb Cader Idris which is a fabulous mountain near Dolgellau in N Wales. I’ve climbed it many times at all times of the year.
