We were staying in Carteret, Normandy, with old family friends and remembering a childhood holiday here. Earlier in the summer I’d been on an archaeological dig on Jersey looking after my grandson where his mother is an archaeologist. It was fun to look back and see distant Jersey and remember the interesting week I’d had there.
